Embroidery Guide
WHAT IS EMBROIDERY?
Embroidery is the process of stitching designs directly into fabric using thread. Unlike printing, embroidery uses real thread, which means there are some limits to the amount of detail and colour blending possible.
REQUIREMENTS
Your design will go through a digitising process, so it doesn’t need to be production-ready.
We do not mind what file format is provided as long as the image is clear.
LIMITATIONS
- Maximum colours: Up to 15 thread colours per design.
- Thread colours: We’ll match your artwork to the closest thread shades available. Exact matching isn’t possible.
- No gradients or transparency: Embroidery uses solid thread colours only. Fades and blends aren't achievable.
GARMENT RECOMMENDATIONS
Embroidery works best on medium to heavyweight fabrics.
Recommended garments:
- T-shirts and polos (180gsm or heavier)
- Sweatshirts, hoodies, jackets, headwear
Avoid: Lightweight or stretchy garments, as heavy stitching can cause puckering, distortion, or damage over time.
DESIGN IS DIGITISED
Each embroidery job starts with digitising—converting your design into a stitch file.
We determine:
- Which stitch types to use
- Stitch direction, density, and underlay
- Ensure the design looks clean and holds up on fabric
Digitising is included FREE OF CHARGE.
Turnaround Time
Standard production is 7–10 working days from proof approval.
